UAE Forecasted to Spend $5bn on IT this year

Category : Internet Marketing Dubai, Social Media Dubai

Significant IT spending is expected to occur this year in the Middle East and Africa region, as it becomes one of the world’s fastest-growing regions for IT expenditure. A large portion of this spending will be allocated to Internet Marketing efforts.

During the past year in our local UAE market, the economic downturn left many companies scrambling to survive with reduced budgets. During the boom, companies got too comfortable. They got accustomed to operating inefficiently and still churning out respectible levels of profit. The recession challenged this previous status quo and effectively eliminated many companies who were operating recklessly.

Fortunately, many companies in Dubai and Abu Dhabi turned towards efficient lower-cost marketing methods in 2009. At Logicks.com, we worked with companies to grow their businesses, generate leads and enable them to engage their customers through our Internet Marketing services.

In 2010, the UAE is forecasted to spend $5bn on IT, while Saudi Arabia and Qatar are also expected to make significant IT investments. We also expect UAE companies to continue allocating budgets towards more efficient methods of marketing, including Internet Marketing. We are already seeing an escalating demand for social media implementations such as Facebook and Twitter solutions.

Online Retail Shopping in UAE is Expensive

Category : Internet Marketing Dubai

The UAE Online Retail sector has gained significant traction over the last 2 years. This is due to an increase in spending on Internet Marketing campaigns in the region.

However, online retail prices are still high relative to other countries. Considering that the UAE is a region free of VAT, the high prices seems to be artificially inflated. However, at a closer glance, the main barriers to reducing online retail prices are the disorganized address system and inefficient national postal service.

Here is an interesting article comparing online retail prices in the UAE to those in the US.
